What is it?
We, at the ECR Group, believe in a Europe which celebrates diversity and democracy.
Our vision is for Europe to be a community of sovereign states – a looser confederal association of nation states acting together only when added value can be proven rather than a centralised federal state. We want to see a Europe where our great nations work together in areas of common interest as equal partners.
In the words of our founding Prague Declaration, we recognise “the urgent need to reform the EU on the basis of Eurorealism, Openness, Accountability and Democracy, in a way that respects the sovereignty of our nations and concentrates on economic recovery, growth and competitiveness”.

Authors of the best-articulated submissions will be invited to join us at the ECR conference to share their ideas with the EU policymakers in Brussels.
Winners will receive travel and accommodation reimbursements to attend the conference.

Over the years, we have seen a constant push for the federalist idea of Europe as a super-state with stronger influence and more power for its centralised supranational institutions.
But this is not inevitable. It is a crucial moment in the history of Europe, and it is time for us to voice our opinions.
The social media challenge is open to all EU citizens and residents, under 35 years of age, who agree with the values and vision of the ECR group
Participation in the challenge is simple. You will need to record a 30-60 second video sharing your thoughts about the future of Europe and why it should be a community of sovereign states. Upload your video to either Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter, with hashtags #ResetEU and #TheFutureIsYours. Follow and tag the ECR Group profiles and call two of your friends to participate.
Please, note that your profile needs to be open to the public as we won’t be able to review your video submission otherwise.
Video submissions are welcome in all EU languages or English – those not in English should have a brief description of their ideas in English.
The deadline to enter is August 31.
We will review all submitted videos and select the ones that best articulate the ECR’s ideas and values. The winning videos will also be rated based on their argumentation, creativity and aesthetic quality.
We will contact the winning authors directly on their social media profiles.
The winners will be invited to join us in Brussels to share their ideas with European policymakers at an ECR conference. Winners will receive travel and accommodation scholarships to attend, show their videos and discuss ideas with MEPs and other ECR officials and partners.
Please note that by participating in the competition, you agree that your video will be used in ECR’s public communications.
